Powhatan 2021 Christmas


We are excited to see the return of the Christmas Parade this year. It will be held on December 11th, beginning at 2:00 pm.
The parade route follows along Old Buckingham Road, from Mann Rd to the Courthouse area. New this year, a tree lighting is being planned for immediately following the parade in the Courthouse area. Santa will also be present for hearing Christmas wishes and taking pictures.

Questions should be directed to the Parade Committee
There is a non-refundable $25 donation to register to participate in the parade line-up and a $30 donation to reserve a vendor spot on the Courthouse green.
All parade entries should decorate using a Winter or Christmas theme. Please remember Santa will already be in attendance.
Parade lineup begins at Noon. See you December 11th!

Dale Goodman

A Life-long resident of Powhatan County.  A graduate of Powhatan High School , attended Longwood College with a scholarship in music.  After spending 11 years in the world of work in banking, she decided to enter the world of work in education.    She began as a secretary of Powhatan County Schools Vocational Center, High School, Central Office School’s Facilities, & The Human Resources Departments.   After a total of 33 years, she decided to retire as an administrative assistant of the Powhatan County School’s Food Service Department.

She has one daughter, Veronica (Darryl), three grandchildren, Delaney, Darryl, Jr. & Mya.  Dale also values her time with her three siblings, Delores, Jackie, and Obie (Jo) as they share stories of ole.

Although retired, Dale still desires to spend a portion of her time in the school system by substituting.      She says she puts GOD first.   She’s is a die-hard gardener, sings/ write gospel songs, but most of all she enjoys the smiles she places on her family & friends faces.
